Requesting deletion of your data

Updated August 31, 2026

This page explains how to exercise your right to request deletion of the personal information Comun, Inc. collects or maintains about you, including information related to your use of ComunPay through WhatsApp.

Some ComunPay features are accessible through WhatsApp as well as through the Comun app and website. Transfers initiated through WhatsApp are subject to WhatsApp's terms of service and availability, which are outside of Comun's control.

Your right to delete

You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information that is collected or maintained by us.

Information we collect and maintain

As described in our Privacy Policy, this may include:

  • The information you provide in applications and other forms, and your profile information
  • Transaction data from your use of our Services
  • Information about you and your device, such as your hardware model, operating system information, unique device identifier, mobile network information, AdID, precise geolocation and IP address
  • The information, data and other content you submit through the Platform ("User Content")
How to submit a request

You may make a request by either of the following methods:

  • Submitting a request via email to ayuda@comun.app
  • Calling us at +1 (646) 600-5660

You may also review and correct your profile information details and preferences through your account settings in the Comun App, by contacting us at ayuda@comun.app, or by writing to us at Comun, 33 W 17th Street, New York, NY 10011.

When we may not be able to honor your request

In some instances, we may not be able to honor your request. For example, we will not honor your request if we cannot verify your identity, or if we cannot verify that you have the authority to make a request on behalf of another individual. We will also not honor your request where an exception applies. We will advise you in our response if we are unable to honor your request.

Comun will maintain your Data in accordance with its data retention policies and applicable laws and regulations. Notwithstanding any deletion requests you may submit, Comun may retain your Data as required by its data retention policies or applicable laws and regulations, and in such cases, will not be obligated to honor deletion requests that would conflict with such requirements.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

Deactivating your account is not the same as deletion

We do not delete information about you upon deactivation of your Account. Although your deactivated status is reflected promptly in our user databases, we may retain the information you submit for a variety of purposes, including legal compliance, backups and archiving, prevention of fraud and abuse, and analytics.

Limiting sharing and advertising instead of deletion

If your concern is how your information is used or shared rather than deletion:

  • You can opt out of promotional messages sent by text, SMS, WhatsApp or email by replying STOP to any marketing communication from Comun.
• Our GLBA Privacy Notice provides information about how you can limit your sharing options for our financial services and GLBA-covered data.
  • You can opt out of some interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info/choices, the Network Advertising Initiative at networkadvertising.org/choices, or by selecting "limit ad tracking" (iOS) or "opt-out of interest-based ads" (Android) on your device.
  • A customer can request that their information is not shared with the affiliates of Comun.
